Explore this space freely in every direction and every dimension as if you are traveling through space and time, rather than being limited to scrolling up and down in a flat one dimensional space. Just like the universe, there are no pre-defined structures. Organic Information Structures allows the individual building blocks, or individual pieces of information, to determine the shape of the structure, rather than allowing rigid, pre-defined structures to dictate how your information should be displayed and how you can access it. Bottom line, our Organic Information Structure will allow us to create next generation digital experiences that are truly efficient, beautiful, and content-driven without the clutter that exists in traditional user interfaces we see everywhere today.   Use Cases Organic Information Structure can be beneficial for applications that handle large amount of data with complex attributes, such as videos on Netflix, products on Amazon, photos/videos on Facebook. Using Organic Information Structure, users will be able to see what's more popular, recent, and relevant all at once at a glance, rather than having to use a traditional sorting/filtering method which only allows you to view a single type of information at a time. For example, if you search for videos on Netflix now, the results will appear in a grid view, and you can use a dropdown to sort them by "suggestions," "ratings," or "released time," but you CANNOT see those 3 types of information at the same time. When you have tens of thousands of videos in your database, when your search query returns hundreds of results, but when only top 10 results may be relevant to you, wouldn't it be more beneficial for you to be able to quickly see other aspects of those top 10 items so you can easily compare and decide which video is the best option for you? Or do you want to continue wasting your screen space by displaying more of less relevant items in a grid or list view and by having to switch back and forth between different sorting options to see what's more relevant, popular, and/or recent in order for you to decide which video to watch? We typically find ourselves in the comfort and familiarity of our bubble. HAPY users are provided an enriching tool to cross paths with a local stranger’s Golden Circle and learn about WHY they exist. This tool allows the users a two minute, one-on-one, live video chat with another local. Not sure what to talk about? HAPY alleviates this problem by providing a short list of fun and thought provoking conversation starters that are updated daily to help break the ice. Many problems over the years have been solved as communication tools improve but the drawback is that they are primarily focused on established connections. HAPY is different as it utilizes the advancement in live-streaming technologies to turn our cities into neighborhoods. Hapy utilizes a visualization we coined Organic Structure that reimagines the way information is organized. Instead of the linear feed that’s come to dominate the presentation of digital information in all apps, this Organic Structure displays information in a multidimensional space where its relevance to you is dictated in size and position. You can explore that space in every direction without being constrained by a set way of scrolling. The content itself defines the structure, not the other way around. We need to look at all the gestures we use on various devices and find patterns. Patterns that will allow us to create a system, a basic set of rules – a language. We forget that gestures are just like words of a language. The reason what I'm saying here makes sense to you is because we speak the same language. A group of people got together and agreed on a basic set of rules that certain sounds meant certain things and decided to call it English. The same condition applies to gestures. We need a basic set of rules to make sure we speak the same language – or use the same set of gestures. That's why we have put together the patterns we have discovered into a simple language that would allow us to systematically assign gestures to various functions of the apps we build, so that every gesture is consistent, logical, and easy to remember  on all the app across all the platforms.  We decided to call it Universal Gestures Language . It’s actually quite simple, It’s based on 3 basic principles.     Basic Principles   1-FINGER GESTURES Control actions or movements (Primary Functions)   2-FINGER GESTURES Manipulate values (Secondary Functions)   3-FINGER GESTURES Control functions that require confirmation (Tertiary Functions)     Benefits   MINIMALISTIC & BEAUTIFUL It allows us to replace unnecessary buttons with simple gestures so that our interfaces can be more minimalistic and beautiful.   CONSISTENT, LOGICAL, AND EASY TO REMEMBER It allows us to assign gestures to various functions of the apps we develop so that all the gestures can be consistent, logical, and easy to remember on all the apps across all platforms.   EFFICIENT & EFFORTLESS It allows us to directly interact with our digital world with the set of conventions that are much closer to the conventions of our reality, rather than having to depend on unnatural button-based interfaces. Such efficient & effortless control allows us to be able to immerse ourselves in the digital experience without the clutter or restrictions we had in the past.  (384 words) - [Presence](/content/presence/index.html): We designed and developed an app that automatically logged a user into their MAC based on proximity of their mobile device. We used BLE on iPhones to collect device IDs and keys from MACs and verified authorization over a firebase. Once done, the iphone’s presence and proximity could be used to lock and unlock the MAC. Proximity is determined by bluetooth signal strength and thus we had to implement hysteresis as a solution for dealing with the otherwise frequent switching (locking and unlocking of the device) and produce a desirable and consistent user experience. We need to replace all the unnecessary buttons with simple gestures to make our interfaces minimalistic and beautiful while making our experiences simple, efficient and effortless. All the essential features can be available at our finger tips without having to reach across the screen or bend our fingers in an awkward way to tap on tiny little buttons.  When it comes to handling a large amount of information, such as songs on a playlist, we must consider displaying them organically in a fluid structure based on their relevance, rather than limiting our experience to a rigid grid or list views. Our information does not have to fit in a box anymore. Now it can be molded, arranged, and served to us purely based on their relevance, not based on the shape or size of our mobile devices. With today's touchscreen capabilities and processing power, we are no longer limited by the technical limitations – but only by our old habits and outdated expectations. Expect everything to be relevant, contextual, and interactive.
